What Nozzle Head Do I Need For My Jetting Machine?

Now you are ready to choose a nozzle there are many different sizes and combinations available on the market today. If your work consists of cleaning and scouring the walls of pipes you need a nozzle with a wide angle and as many jets of water as possible. This configuration will clean the whole wall of the pipe but the nozzle will lack traction for long runs. These types of jetter heads should be heavy to sit in the bottom of the pipe and have a high efficiency rating. If you always seem to be removing sand and silt from pipes you need a nozzle with a combination of two angles something like 12 and 8 degrees this will give high pulling power and lift the silt from the floor of the pipe. These nozzles need to have a high efficiency up to 95% and also be heavy enough to sit in the bottom of the drain. If your work is generally clearing blockages a small nozzle is probably best this type of head should be small enough to negotiate tight turns and ubends as these are generally the areas where blockages occurs. Now you need to decide if you need a front jet and how many rear jets you need. If your machine is a low flow with high pressure i.e. below 40 litters per minute you should be looking at a four back with one or no front jet this keeps the size of the holes up so you won’t get dirt blocking the nozzle. The front jet can help impact the blockage but reduce the thrust of the nozzle. If no front jet is used and the blockage is soft it will drive in and gets the high power of the rear jets working faster. If the flow is above 40 litters per minute a six back jet with a forward will work better as it will give better cleaning than a four back and still have big enough jets to let small particles of dirt pas trough them. When buying a new nozzle for your jetting machine don’t just buy the cheapest nozzle you can find on the internet there are big differences in high quality computer designed & precision machined nozzles and the cheap imports that are just drilled to let water pass through.
